According to Downdetector, social media platform X experienced a significant outage affecting thousands of users in the U.S. The number of outage reports peaked at over 10,000 but has since decreased to around 1,041.

It’s important to note that Downdetector’s data is based on user-submitted reports, so the actual number of affected users may vary. In May, Elon Musk mentioned plans to reinstate an “around-the-clock work schedule” on X. Musk, who invested nearly $300 million last year to support former U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign and other Republicans, emphasized the need to focus on X, xAI, and Tesla, alongside an upcoming Starship launch, to advance core technologies.

Musk pointed out that the Recent operational issues on platform X highlight the urgent need for significant improvements. In March, during a similar outage, Musk attributed the problem to a cyberattack. As of now, X has not responded to Reuters’ request for comment.
