Arm (ARM, Financial), a leading chip design company, announced its involvement in the US government’s ambitious $500 billion Stargate AI project. CEO Rene Haas revealed that notable tech giants Microsoft (MSFT) and NVIDIA (NVDA) will also participate as primary technical partners. NVIDIA’s contribution will include GPUs from its Blackwell chip line, while Arm will supply the CPU designs.

Rene Haas expressed optimism that with significant investment and time, more participants would have opportunities to join the project. He also addressed criticisms from Tesla’s (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, who recently pointed out that companies like OpenAI and Oracle (ORLA), as well as SoftBank, may lack the financial resources to fulfill their commitments to the US AI infrastructure.

In response to Musk’s comments, Haas emphasized that he hadn’t reviewed the statement but mentioned that financial support is evident, as the AI policy was announced jointly by the firms and former US President Trump.
