Boliden (BDNNY) has released its Q2 2025 earnings report, showcasing a mixed financial performance amidst challenging market conditions. The company’s revenue decreased slightly to SEK 22,285 million from SEK 22,748 million reported in the same quarter of the previous year. The operating profit also saw a significant decline, dropping 77% to SEK 1,094 million from SEK 4,814 million year-over-year.

Highlighting operational successes, Boliden achieved record mine production at its Aitik facility and successfully consolidated the Somincor and Zinkgruvan mines. Despite these accomplishments and substantial acquisitions totaling SEK 14,389 million, the company maintained a low net debt/equity ratio of 29%.

Free cash flow excluding acquisitions was positive at SEK 2,035 million. However, including acquisitions, the free cash flow was negative, amounting to SEK -12,354 million. The company faced several operational challenges, including a weaker USD, which negatively impacted operations by SEK -600 million, lower treatment charges, and planned maintenance in smelters, affecting operating profit by SEK -400 million.

Boliden’s consolidation efforts and strategic acquisitions underscore its commitment to expanding its operational footprint, although market conditions and acquisition costs have weighed on its immediate financial results.
