I want to start on the other side of this script here. Really the focus on these meme stocks. Really curious what you’re seeing on the Robin Hood platform right now. Seeing a lot of activity in Open Door, now seeing activity in Better Home, uh, retail investors really coming out in force.

Yeah, Open Door has definitely been something we’ve seen traded pretty actively, more on the buy side, especially over the last week than, um, you know, on the sell side. Uh, we had our client conference a little over a week ago in Vegas, the Robin Hood, uh Hood Summit. and even there, like a lot of the chatter was talking about open door, um, and how a lot of our customers felt like it was a a really great long-term opportunity, not just, you know, near-term, short-term trading opportunity.

Stephanie, do you think that’s why we might be seeing some weakness in the in the crypto markets? The retail investors perhaps don’t know where to go. Do you chase some of these hot meme stocks or do you stay long crypto?

01:13 Stephanie

I I mean, I think our crypto traders are still staying long crypto. You know, we’ve been seeing them trading around like Ripple was pretty popular for on the buy side for a while, then it switched to ETH as you mentioned earlier. Um, you know, Doge has actually been more popular in the last week or so, uh, you know, followed by Bitcoin. So we’re not really seeing like a a a shuffle away from crypto at all. It’s just kind of like within and and it’s the same on the single stock side, like most of our customer base tends to sell, you know, when something’s up a lot or at least trim their position and vice versa when something drops a lot, they they buy on those dips.

And as I love following the uh the crypto blogs because I think everyone acknowledges it’s been a big year for crypto in large part because the the regulatory backdro backdrop has changed under uh President Trump. But there’s still this thought that uh at every downturn or downtick in Bitcoin, we’re we’re headed towards another crypto winter.

02:23 Speaker C

Yeah, well, especially because over the last couple of days, you saw quite a drop when it comes to uh crypto in general. I mean, you had the uh largest liquidation of this year happening over the weekend, more than 1.5 billion in crypto liquid long liquidations. And so that kind of spooked the markets. uh and you also saw across the board. uh ETH, you saw Solana, you saw all of those under pressure. So, um that’s that spooked the markets a bit, but look, um Wall Street analysts that are following crypto basically say that they their thesis hasn’t changed. September tends to be a volatile month for Bitcoin for example and you are looking at Bitcoin at around 113,000 per token. If it falls below 110, then you could see more consolidation in that area, but you still have forecasts of 150 to 200 in the next year for um Bitcoin. So, you still have Wall Street that’s bullish and especially the fact that you’ve seen gold rallying so much because gold tends to be a precursor to crypto.
