Well, Gold’s latest rally may be flashed a good sign for Bitcoin, with investors eyeing the seasonal shift ahead. Joining us now is senior markets reporter, Inez Ferre. Inez.
00:09 Inez Ferre
Yeah, Josh, and we have seen gold rallying uh over the last several weeks, gold at record highs. and this tends to be positive for Bitcoin because you have uh Fundstrat’s uh Sean Farrell talking about uh gold tend to be tends to front run Bitcoin and it has tended to do this since 2023.
00:30 Inez Ferre
So, this resurgence that we’ve seen in gold is positive when you’re talking about crypto uh cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. In September, you tend to see weakness for crypto, for especially for Bitcoin, you see the alt coins that are doing better uh than Bitcoin.
00:52 Inez Ferre
October, you tend to see a sort of divergence with equities and uh with Bitcoin as well because uh equities tend to be a little bit more volatile, but in October, you tend to see Bitcoin have stronger historical returns.
01:10 Inez Ferre
So, the fact that you are seeing gold at record highs and that gold has been rallying so much over the last couple of weeks or so, uh this bodes well for Bitcoin.
01:21 Josh
So Inez, so September often, we know brings weakness for for stocks and crypto, but history shows as you’re noting there that October tends to be one of the more bullish months for digital assets. So is there foreshadowing here with gold and Bitcoin?
01:38 Inez Ferre
There certainly is some foreshadowing. I mean, if you look at sort of historical uh patterns and if you look at also, uh, you know, Wall Street calls this liquidity, this being that when you see liquidity at at at a highs, elevated levels, then uh you tend to see gold and Bitcoin as sort of the liquidity valves.
01:57 Inez Ferre
So you have you tend to see investors sort of migrating towards those assets, those assets tend to inflate. But it tends to be first gold that does that and then Bitcoin that follows.
02:09 Inez Ferre
So while we do see sort of a consolidation, some choppy consolidation, I should say, when it comes to Bitcoin in September, you should see Bitcoin going higher in October uh with some seasonal tailwinds for the cryptocurrency.
