Swedish truck manufacturer Volvo Group is preparing to lay off up to 800 employees at its three U.S. plants. This decision comes as a response to concerns that U.S. President Trump’s tariff policies might impact demand. The company has informed employees about the impending layoffs at its Mack Trucks plant in Macungie, Pennsylvania, as well as at two other facilities in Dublin, Virginia, and Hagerstown, Maryland.

A Volvo spokesperson indicated that the company needs to adjust production levels to align with the decreased market demand for its vehicles. According to the company’s website, Volvo employs nearly 20,000 people in North America.
