Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) is reportedly bolstering its infrastructure in preparation for hosting OpenAI’s new large language models as per a report by The Verge. The tech giant plans to support OpenAI’s latest model, GPT-4.5, very soon and anticipates integrating the more powerful GPT-5 model later. OpenAI’s CEO, Altman, describes GPT-5 as a system integrating multiple cutting-edge technologies developed by the startup, including the latest o3 logic model.
Recently, OpenAI introduced a mini version of the o3-model, referred to as o3-mini. Microsoft currently hosts OpenAI’s large language models on its cloud service platform, Azure, which is a significant step for both companies in advancing AI capabilities.
