As the year-end holiday season approaches, companies are prioritizing their tech budgets for 2025. According to Piper Sandler’s survey, Google Cloud has rapidly emerged as a leader in enterprise AI spending. The survey of 81 CIOs revealed a significant rise in IT budget allocations, with 87% planning to increase their budgets, the highest since 2020.
Google Cloud gained prominence, surpassing Microsoft and OpenAI, with its “most strategic” AI provider support rising to 27% from 15% six months ago. For AI testing and implementation, 50% of respondents chose Google Cloud, making it a top AI infrastructure provider. This trend benefits other key cloud providers like Microsoft Azure, Amazon’s AWS, and Oracle. Additionally, Piper analyst Harsh Kumar highlighted favorable prospects for Nvidia (NVDA, Financial) as these companies are major AI chip buyers.
