UK Secures Tariff-Free Deal for Aerospace with Trump Administration

The UK is set to finalize an agreement with the Trump administration, exempting its aerospace sector, valued at £40 billion, from US tariffs. UK Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds confirmed that the deal ensures zero tariffs for the aerospace industry. Additionally, the agreement opens opportunities for increasing quotas on UK-manufactured cars, which will benefit from a reduced US import tax of 10%.

Previously, the UK and the US reached a trade agreement that eliminated tariffs on steel and aluminum and reduced car export tariffs to 10%. US Commerce Secretary Lutenik mentioned that Rolls-Royce aircraft engines and similar aircraft components would also be exempt from tariffs.
