Treasury Yields Fall After Consumer Price Data

U.S. government bond yields fell after data showed consumer prices cooled in August, easing investors’ worries about runaway inflation.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which helps set borrowing costs on everything from corporate debt to mortgages, slid to a recent 1.282%, according to Tradeweb, from 1.323% Monday.
