U.S. stock futures ticked higher ahead of manufacturing figures and a private employment report.
S&P 500 futures were up 0.4% and futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.4%. Changes in equity futures don’t necessarily predict moves after the markets open.
In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 rose 0.7% in morning trade. Utilities and energy sectors led gains while the materials sector lost ground.
Red Eléctrica Corp oración added 2.3%.
The U.K.’s FTSE 100, which is dominated by large international businesses, climbed 0.7%. Other stock indexes in Europe also mostly climbed as France’s CAC 40 gained 1%, the FTSE 250 climbed 0.4% and Germany’s DAX added 0.8%.
