If we’re heading towards a sharp recession should you hold commodities?

I purchased around 1000 shares of DBA a few months ago as a way to hedge against inflation and it has been doing fairly well. It looked like the market was going to keep going in it's 'kangaroo' pattern that it had been in. However, current sentiment seems to be that we're more likely due for a sharp recession shortly and I'm worried about how that will affect commodities. In the recession of 07-08 commodities tanked like 40%. Are any of you worried about this? Does anyone have any advice?
