Hyatt Hotels Corporation (H) has announced a significant transition in its executive team. Kristin Oliver will take over as Chief Human Resources Officer from Malaika Myers, who retires after a distinguished seven-year tenure at Hyatt. The transition is set to be effective from May 12, 2025.

Kristin Oliver joins Hyatt with a robust 15-year track record in HR leadership across major consumer brands, including HanesBrands, Walgreens, Chico’s, and Walmart. Oliver will be responsible for directing Hyatt’s global HR strategy and will operate from the company’s headquarters in Chicago. This appointment underscores Hyatt’s commitment to enhancing its brand-focused and agile enterprise strategy.

Malaika Myers has made significant contributions to Hyatt, notably with the RiseHY program, which is on course to meet its ambitious goal of 10,000 youth hires. This program is part of Hyatt’s broader mission to provide opportunities and enhance workplace inclusivity. Under Myers’ leadership, the company has thrived, managing over 1,400 hotels across 79 countries, showcasing brands such as Park Hyatt, Alila, and Miraval.
