The stock market was up this week. Let’s take a look at some of the top news of the week first. Major indices hit record highs last week, but then tumbled this week. Others are more cautious, fearing that an increase in coronavirus cases will impede the global economic recovery at the same time that the Federal Reserve is preparing to curtail its massive bond-buying program, causing the global economy to falter… In addition, It’s a great time to be alive in Covid-19, but the already terrible situation that has been impacted by the Delta variant threatens to get worse. Both the Federal Reserve and investors are in a dilemma… Other than this The cost of paying with a credit card is increasing. Businesses of all sizes are now charging fees for credit card purchases or offering discounts for paying with debit cards, checks, and cash. Business credit card fees have risen in parallel with generous cash-back and travel rewards.

VRTV(Veritiv Corp.)- Veritiv Corp. engages in the business-to-business distributor of print, publishing, packaging, facility solutions, print, and publishing products, and services. The firm provides logistics and supply chain management solutions to its customers. It operates through the following segments: Print, Publishing, Packaging, and Facility Solutions. The Print segment sells and distributes commercial printing, writing, copying, digital, wide-format, and specialty paper products, graphics consumables, and graphics equipment primarily in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. The Publishing segment involves in sale and distribution of coated and uncoated commercial printing papers to publishers, retailers, converters, printers, and specialty businesses for use in magazines, catalogs, books, directories, gaming, couponing, retail inserts, and direct mail. 

DSKE(Daseke Inc.)- Daseke, Inc. engages in the provision of transportation and logistics solutions. It operates through the Flatbed Solutions and Specialized Solutions segments. The Flatbed Solutions segment delivers its services through flatbed and retractable-sided transportation equipment to meet the needs of high-volume and time-sensitive shippers. The Specialized Solutions segment focuses on transportation and logistics solutions that include super heavy haul, high-value customized, over-dimensional, commercial glass, and high-security cargo solutions. The company was founded by Don R. Daseke in November 2008 and is headquartered in Addison, TX.

It operates through the Distributed Gaming and Casino’s segments. The Distributed Gaming segment involves the installation, maintenance, and operation of slots and amusement devices in non-casino locations such as grocery stores, convenience stores, liquor stores, restaurants, bars, and taverns; and the operation of wholly-owned branded taverns targeting local patrons. The Casino segment focuses on owning and managing resort casinos. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Las Vegas, NV.

It also owns Payless, which is a car rental brand; Apex, which is a car rental brand in New Zealand and Australia; Maggiore, a vehicle rental brand in Italy, and France Cars, which operates light commercial vehicle fleets in France.

ASIX(AdvanSix Inc.)- AdvanSix Inc. is a producer and supplier of Nylon 6 materials. The company’s polymer resin is sold under the Aegis(R) brand to produce engineered plastics, fibers, filaments, and films which in turn are used in end products such as automotive and electronic components, carpets, sports apparel, fishing nets, and food as well as industrial packaging. AdvanSix also produces caprolactam, the main feedstock for producing nylon; Caprannylon film(R); Sulf-N (R) ammonium sulfate fertilizers and chemical intermediates, including phenol, acetone, and Nadone (R) cyclohexanone. AdvanSix Inc. is based in Morris Plains, United States.

SIMO(Silicon Motion Technology Corp. ADR)- Silicon Motion Technology Corp. engages in the development, manufacture, and supply of semiconductor products for the electronics market. The firm’s products include Flash Controllers, Storage Solutions, and others. It offers embedded and expandable storage, radio frequency integrated circuits, and embedded graphics. The company was founded in November 1995 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.

PPC(Pilgrim’s Pride Corp.)- Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. is engaged in the production, processing, marketing, and distribution of fresh, frozen, and value-added chicken products to retailers, distributors, and foodservice operators. It operates through the following segments: U.S., U.K. & Europe, and Mexico. The company was founded by Lonnie A. Pilgrim and Aubrey Pilgrim on October 2, 1946, and is headquartered in Greeley, CO.

JLL(Jones Lang LaSalle Inc.)- Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. engages in the provision of professional services which specialize in real estate and investment management. It operates through the following geographic segments: Americas; Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); Asia Pacific; and LaSalle Investment Management (LaSalle). The Americas, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific segments provide leasing, capital markets, integrated property and facility management, project management, advisory, and transaction services. The LaSalle segment offers investment management services on a global basis to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals. The company was founded by Richard Winstanley in 1783 and is headquartered in Chicago, IL.

WIRE(Encore Wire Corp.)- Encore Wire Corp. engages in manufacturing copper electrical building wire and cable. The firm is a significant supplier of building wire for interior electrical wiring in commercial and industrial buildings, homes, apartments, and manufactured housing. It offers an electric building wire product line that consists primarily of NM-B cable, UF-B cable, THHN/THWN-2, and other types of wire products, including Metal Clad, Armored Cable, Photovoltaic Cable, and Bare Copper. Its principal customers are wholesale electrical distributors, who sell building wire and a variety of other products to electrical contractors. The company was founded by Vincent A. Rego in 1989 and is headquartered in McKinney, TX.

ON(ON Semiconductor Corp.)- ON Semiconductor Corp. engages in the design, manufacture, and marketing of a portfolio of semiconductor components. It operates through the following segments: Power Solutions Group, Advanced Solutions Group, and Intelligent Sensing Group. The Power Solutions Group segment offers discrete, module, and semiconductor products that perform multiple application functions, including power switching, power conversion, signal conditioning, circuit protection, signal amplification, and voltage reference functions. The Advanced Solutions Group segment designs and develops analog, mixed-signal, advanced logic, ASSPs and ASICs, Wi-Fi, and power solutions for a broad base of end-users in the automotive, consumer, computing, industrial, communications, medical, and aerospace/defense markets.
