[Advice Needed] Commodity trading, is it too late?

Hi, I recently finished my 3rd year( on a 4-year degree) at a high semi-target university in the UK, studying mathematics. I am currently on course to finish my degree with a 2:1 (3.5 GPA equivalent I guess?), which is decent, but obviously not outstanding in any way. There is a slight possibility for me to get a first class degree (>3.7 GPA equivalent) if I work my ass off in the final year, with the only issue being that I absolutely hate what I am studying and have doubts if one more year of this is good for my mental health.

So I began looking for my options if I were to drop out of university, and since I have found interest in commodity trading, I found the Trafigura apprenticeship program for people straight out of high school. I am heavily considering applying for it, but I am not sure if they would even look at me, since I have been to 3 years of university. I would make clear in my application that I am willing to drop out to pursue this passion, but I can't seem to find any people online facing or who have faced a similiar problem.

The reason why I am considering the apprenticeship program instead of the graduate program is because as I said I don't know if I will be able to cope with another year of my degree. I have honestly wasted these 3 years at university, without having done anything that I could put on my CV/resume, joined any extracurricular clubs, done any networking, spent most of my time being depressed about my degree and keeping myself in delusion that it will get better as I go on. I really should have switched degrees early on, but that's all in the past now. I figured that I need to change something as soon as possible, and I would be grateful if anyone on this sub can advise me on my options. I put together a few questions:

  1. Has anyone been through/applied for the Trafigura apprenticeship programme, and has any thoughts about whether I would be even a valid applicant? If so, what are some non-obvious things I should focus on in my application? Any general tips?
  2. If the apprenticeship route is an unfeasible idea, or I simply get rejected, should I endure one more year of my degree, try to go for the first class degree?
  3. Assuming I continue with university, how do my chances look if I go for the big commodity trading graduate programmes? I assume they are quite low, given that I wasted 3 years at university, and it is too late to apply for spring weeks/insight weeks/internships. I will try to network intensively though, try to find people in the industry and connect etc.
  4. What are some alternative, less competitive positions I can apply for after graduation that will potentially allow me to transfer into commodity trading later on in my professional career?
  5. What are some useful skills (eg programming languages? ) that I can learn and work on that would be useful to put on my CV? Is being very proficient at Excel a common skill among commodity traders?

Thank you for taking your time to read and answer this!
