35 Year-Old Interested in Career Change to Ag Merchandising

TLDR: 35 years old and considering a career change to commodity merchandising. Am I too old?

I'll try to keep this short. I sincerely appreciate any advice.

I graduated college in 2009 with a degree in Agribusiness but couldn't find anything better than an internship at a major firm. The economy was awful at the time and it was difficult to get a job in any field. I declined the job because I needed something that paid. I realize now that this was a big mistake. I got my Series 3 and took a job at a futures brokerage. I knew it wasn't the type of job I wanted but was desperate to do anything related to the commodity markets because I was fascinated by them. I hated the job. The people I worked with were extremely dishonest and dissuaded me from any attempts to learn the fundamental side of ag futures. I quit and ended up in a completely unrelated career. The job pays well but the work-life balance is horrendous.

I've reached the stage in my life that I'm realizing money is not everything. Working nights, holidays and weekends has worn me down to the point that I'm considering a change, despite earning six figures and having extreme job security.

Is a career in commodities something that can realistically work out for someone starting at my age? What is a rough estimate of earning potential in the short and long-term? Without any ag experience, would I even have a chance of getting a job this far removed from college?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I would really appreciate any advice you can offer.
